Privacy policy

This policy covers the website hanyx.app and its waitlist. The Hanyx app itself keeps your data on your Mac; it will get its own privacy policy at launch.

Who is responsible

Visiting the website

The site is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that every web server receives: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and operating system. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site, protect it from attacks and limit abusive requests (for example, too many sign-ups from one address in a short time). Logs are kept only briefly.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Cloudflare processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare may process data in the USA; transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Cloudflare is certified, and by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

No cookies, no tracking

We don't set cookies and don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts are served from our own domain, so no third-party font service is contacted. If you pick a colour theme (Light, Dark or Night), that choice is stored in your browser's local storage on your device only. It is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Joining the waitlist

When you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the time you signed up and, once you confirm, the time of confirmation.

• Double opt-in. We send you one email with a confirmation link. You're only added to the waitlist after you confirm. If you don't confirm, your address is deleted automatically after 7 days.
• What we use it for. To tell you when Hanyx launches and to send your early-access invite. We send no newsletters or marketing beyond that, and we never sell or share the list.
• Legal basis. Your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. We keep the confirmation time as proof of your consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR).
• How long. Until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, and at the latest until the early-access rollout is finished, after which we delete the list.
• Withdrawing consent. Any time, without giving a reason: use the unsubscribe link in our emails or write to hi@hanyx.app. Withdrawal doesn't affect anything done before it.

The waitlist is stored in Cloudflare's database service (Workers KV), under the same agreement as above.

Sending emails

Our emails are sent through Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). Resend receives your email address and the content of the message to deliver it, and keeps delivery logs for a limited time. Resend processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Transfers to the USA are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the data we hold about you (Art. 15),
• have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17),
• restrict its processing (Art. 18),
• receive it in a portable format (Art. 20),
• object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21),
• withdraw your consent at any time (Art. 7(3)).

You can also complain to a data protection authority. The one responsible for us is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
